This is my fourteenth year in education. Before making the transition to the Platte County School District, I spent four years teaching second grade and two years teaching third grade in a neighboring school district. In the fall of 2006, I became the assistant principal at Barry School and remained in that position the following year. I obtained my undergraduate degree from Northwest Missouri State University and also earned my master's degree in Elementary Administration from Northwest Missouri State University. My education path then took me to the University of Kansas where I completed my doctorate in Teaching and Leadership. My wife, Jill, and I have two children. Our son, Drew, was born in August of 2006 and our daughter,Macy, was born May of 2009. Drew and Macy continue to add such joy and fun to our lives, and both of our kids are proud Pirates in the Platte County School District.
As a primary building, Pathfinder takes pride in helping each child mature academically. Our teachers do not lose sight of the individual qualities all children possess. Instead, the teachers at Pathfinder help to build on the specific strengths children have already developed and will work to improve on any weaknesses. Our goal is for every child to be successful and to take ownership of his or her education.
As mentioned previously, we want all children to take ownership of their education, but we also want parents to share in that ownership of and responsibility for their child's education. In order for a child to be successful in school, a partnership between the parent and school must exist. Pathfinder welcomes you as we work together to build learners of tomorrow.
