  • A part of the Kansas City Community Foundation which allows PCEF to utilize their investment team to our advantage.
  • Administers scholarship funds and innovative classroom teaching grants annually.
  • Actively involved in raising funds from private and corporate sources to support scholarships and enrichment programs throught the District
  • Managed by a Board of Directors composed of dedicated community volunteers.

GRANTS

The Platte County Education Foundation is proud to announce five $500 classroom grant opportunities and one $1,000 site grant opportunity for our staff to receive this year. The Foundation board has worked hard to develop a simple process for staff to submit their grant proposals.  We hope each staff member will consider submitting a proposal for those projects that you have wanted to pursue but didn't have the funding to move forward.  Now is the time! Grant applications available in early January and due in February. Watch this site for details.

SCHOLARSHIPS

The PCEF's goal is to increase the number of grants and scholarships given out each year.  In 2012, the PCEF gave eight student scholarship totalling $9,000. The Foundation scholarships are based on certain specific criteria (academic, community service, needs-based, general, and students going into education). The scholarship applications are available at the high school counselors office in early January and typically due in March. Contact Katie Goeden for more information on scholarship applications.

Please find the applications for both classroom & site grants as well as the scholarship application for high school seniors below.  The deadline for submitting grant proposals is February 15, 2013 by 4:00 p.m. and the scholarship deadline is March 8, 2013. The scholarship applications will also be available in the high school counseling office.
