All About Mrs. Madill
Cheryl Madill was born and raised in the Northland area of Kansas City. She graduated with honors in 1986 from Winnetonka High School. It was one of her lifelong dreams to become a teacher so she attended the University of Missouri-Columbia/Kansas City and earned a Bachelor's Degree in Social Studies Secondary Education. After graduation from college, Cheryl taught Civics, Economics, and American History in regular and alternative school settings for Park Hill High School. She was married to Jeff Madill (Canadian) in 1992 and had to put her teaching career on hold for nine years so she could support her husband's professional hockey career and stay home with their two children, Morgann and Matthew. Mrs. Madill rejoined the work force in 2001 and began teaching at Life Christian Academy. In 2004, Cheryl earned her Master's of Science in Education from Southwest Baptist University. In 2006, Mrs. Madill began teaching at Barry Elementary where she plans on retiring from. She was nominated Platte County School District 2011 Teacher of the Year.
She is currently a member of the Barry School Response to Intervention Team, the Platte County School District Professional Development Team, and Barry LeadershipTeam.
In her spare time, Cheryl Madill enjoys spending time with her family members and friends. She loves being a spectator at her children's sporting events. Morgann (17) , senior at Platte County High School, is a nationally ranked girl's ice hockey player and has verbally committed to play NCAA Division 1 for Mercyhurst. Matt (14), a " BARRY BOY" , is an avid sports lover and plays just about anything (including Fantasy Football)! Currently, Matt is on the KC Junior Golf tour and plays football for the Platte County Middle School 8th grade team. Her husband, Jeff, is an employee of Honda of Tiffany Springs. When he is not working, Jeff gives back to the game he loves by coaching youth travel hockey in the KC Metro area.
