PCHS FBLA Raises $1,250 to Support Homeless Families in the Community
Posted on 01/30/2024

Platte County High School FBLA is a business organization for high school students with a mission to bring business and education together in a positive working relationship through innovative leadership and career development programs. This year for the chapter's projects, PCHS FBLA partnered with Hillcrest-Platte County (Community Service), The Edlin Team (Partnership with a Business), and Nodaway Valley Bank (American Enterprise). The goal is to work together, raising funds for Hillcrest Platte County and their network of support services by helping assist with the transitional housing for homeless families in the community.

To help garner support for this great cause, Platte County FBLA hosted a “Bingo Community Night” on Thursday, January 25 from 6-8pm at Platte County High School. A total of 142 community members and 41 FBLA members and parent volunteers were in attendance. It was a wonderful event for our community with concessions, fantastic Bingo prizes, and a fun, energetic group of high school students to manage the entire event. In addition to the funds that were brought in by this event, guests were asked to donate a household cleaning supply, box of kitchen trash bags or gallon freezer bags to receive an extra BINGO card. These donations all went directly to support each of Hillcrest's 40+ apartments in their housing department. It was an amazing way for PCHS FBLA family, friends, and business partners to create a fun evening for local families and show support to Hillcrest-Platte County.
