Wellness Classes

Platte County School District offers wellness classes at no charge to its employees. See class descriptions below for class dates, times, and locations. To register for the wellness classes listed below please click here.

Total Body Toning - Virtual Class

Join our certified fitness instructor on Google meet for an online Body Toning class, a full body conditioning and strengthening workout.  These exercises will improve functional strength, flexibility and coordination.  Make sure you have a set of weights and mat or towel to use while you participate in an online strength class. 
Students will receive an email with a link for class.

Athletic Stretch Express - Virtual Class

Learn techniques for proper spinal alignment and core strength while focusing on gaining strength and flexibility using body weight movements, poses, and repetitions.  This class is excellent for beginners, athletes, as well as those with some experience.  Come join us for fun music and exercise.  Exercises can be modified to accommodate individual needs.  Make sure you have an exercise mat or towel AND a yoga strap or large dish towel or fabric belt for stretches.

Line Dance 

Have fun, learn to line dance and get exercise while you are at it!  Learn line dances for all occasions and no partner is necessary.  Wear slick-soled shoes – athletic shoes not recommended.

Tai Chi 

Join us for an introduction to the practice of Tai chi.  Each week we will learn a new move to build on the week before.  By the end of the six weeks we will add the moves together to create a sequence.

Grounding Yoga

A Grounding Yoga flow to calm the mind and stretch the body.  We will flow through a vinyasas practice, taking time to breath and finish with a savasana.  This class is for everybody and modification will be given.
